The party continues. This time, P.S. Haven takes the mic:
One of the first stories I ever read from Sommer was “She Looked Good in Ribbons”. And it felt like getting kicked in the gut. Or in the nuts. Or both. But in a good way. A very good way. And it’s still my favorite.
“Ribbons”, as all of Sommer’s stories do, left me with a distinct lump in my throat, not to mention a lump somewhere else. But that’s the thing about Sommer’s stories. They aren’t about sex. Well, let me rephrase that. They are most certainly about sex. Hot, predatory, desperate sex. But more importantly, her stories are about people. And the aching, stabbing, soaring, exhilarating emotions these people feel. Emotions that are tangled an intertwined with the aforementioned hot sex. As I read “Ribbons”, the tension and longing between the characters was almost tangible. I felt every pang of lust, every conflicted urge, every doubt, every surrender. And by the time the story was over, I felt like I had been in that room with those people, my heart having gone through the exact same wringer theirs had.
If the mission of an erotica writer is to stir emotions while getting the blood pumping, then Sommer Marsden can easily say mission accomplished, every time.
I'm going to beg Sommer to put this piece up on her blog. Hell, why don't we all just hop over to her place and serenade her!

Alison
